On Friday, I will be returning to Canada and a renewed life without pain.

After waiting eighteen months to see a surgeon, I was advised it would be at least twelve months before I could have surgery due to the lengthy wait list. As both hips required resurfacing, I was faced with a lengthy wait.

During the eighteen months I waited to see a surgeon, I spent many hours researching hip resurfacing and hip replacement. It was by chance the Dr. Bala’s name and the Hip Resurfacing Center website appeared on my screen. Encouraged by the testimonials, I decided that living in pain for another year was not an option.

I contacted Dr. Bala and within three weeks, my wife and I were traveling to India. Dr. Bala’s credentials were very impressive and most importantly, Dr. Bala was trained by the inventors of the Birmingham resurfacing procedure, Dr. Dereck McMinn and Dr. Ronan Treacy.

From the moment we landed in Mumbai, the care and hospitality we received was exceptional and exceeded our expectations. Travel and accommodation arrangements from Mumbai to Coimbatore were made by
Dr. Bala and his staff, eliminating any problems we may have encountered.

We were met at the airport in Coimbatore by Sri Ramakrishna Hospital staff and taken to our hotel. Dr. Bala called our hotel shortly after we arrived, to ensure we were satisfied with the arrangements and told us he would visit us at the hotel that afternoon. Dr. Bala and Dr. Gerald, the anesthesiologist met with me at the hotel to answer any questions. The following day we were taken to a fully contained, private suite at the hospital. The incredible personalized treatment received alleviated any concerns I may have had.

After the first surgery, my first thought was there is no pain. The care provided by the nursing staff after the surgery was incredible. Dr. Bala and Dr. Gerald visited several times a day to monitor my recovery. Six days later I had the second hip resurfacing surgery.

Today is day twelve and I am walking without pain. All of this would not have been possible without the excellent care received by all the staff at Sri Ramakrishna Hospital.

We were thrilled when Dr. Bala brought his family to meet my wife and I at the hospital.

We can not thank Dr. Bala and his staff enough for the excellent care during our stay at the Sri Ramakrishna Hospital.

I look forward to enjoying life again without pain and would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Bala.
