I am 32 years male working in Dubai-U A E as an Architect/Project
manager, I was diagnosed with Ankylosing spondylitis
and was suffering from joints inflammation and pain
on and off for last 20 years. From last 3 years I was
suffering from severe pain in my hip joints. I was unable
to lift my legs due to which my movements were restricted.
I could barely walk and climbing the staircase was a
nightmare. Any kind of medicine didn’t work ,
further compounding my stress and fading away my hopes
of recovery.
My pain and suffering was equally shared by my wife
and she started surfing the net for any possible solutions
and during this time she came across the hip re-surfacing
and my orthopedic doctor friend Mr. Joseph Ignasius
helped me with correct advice. I took my X-rays and
mailed them to Dr. Balasubramanian and he gave me the
assurances that I will be as normal as others once the
surgery is performed.
On 19th June 2006 I underwent first hip re-surfacing
on my right hip and after a week’s time on the
left side. With in 4 days I could walk without any support
and subsequently the staircase. It was a renewed happiness
of walking without hip joint pain and I was happily
discharged on 1st July 2006 and it took just 17 days
stay at the hospital
Now it is two months after surgery, I Have started my
normal activities like driving and normal working hours
and I am thrilled that the pain of hips which was making
me to think even to take single step forward has disappeared
and me and my family enjoying the long hours outside.
In the coming months I look forward to more activities
like swimming.
Dr. Balasubramaniam is excellent and
very kind and soft spoken which builds more confidence.
He is God’s face of miracles. The staffs at Ramakrishna
hospital, Coimbatore are really wonderful with timely
help and advice apart from very good service.
I recommend all those who are suffering from hip joint
